Matte paintings for Dead Mountain series #2.
On the series plot, actions take place in 1960s, our main challenge was to develop really existed locations from that time period. Also, the process was complicated by the fact there weren't many good looking references, shooted in that time period.

So, it was a really hard to figure out how some locations were look like. Series has two narrative lines, first one was shooted on a digital camera, and the second one was shooted on an old B&W film camera.

This is the reason why some episodes have this old-looking films vibe. We were working with colored versions of plates though, so, all DMPs were done in color and then converted to B&W.

Blood DMP. We were trying to create a DMP from references, but it turned out it's very hard to find any materials for this rare close-up camera angle.
We decided to make fake blood by our own and spread it on the sand, then we shoted it and used as a base
